Sub-Machines: Totally Tanktical

A 3D adaptation of Steamlands. An isometric underwater modular tank-building real-time strategy game where you deliver packages to the remnants of humanity while fending off scavenger tanks.

Achievements

  • The project has been showcased at PAX East 2024 under Clark University

Contributions

  • Level Design & Iteration: Designed and built 3D levels in Unity, collaborating with artists to match thematic tone. Supported QA testing, bug tracking, and level iteration based on playtesting feedback.

  • AI Concept Development: Contributed to enemy AI concept development, including designing a tree map to illustrate AI behavior.

  • Developed AI State Machine: Implemented a robust AI state machine, including the creation and integration of Attack, Patrol, Chase, Search, Observer, Subject, and core State Machine scripts, enhancing enemy behavior and overall game management.

  • Contributed to Programming Style Guide: Established standards for variable grouping and spacing.

  • Assisted with PAX East Preparation: Supported logistical and presentation aspects for PAX East.
